Soccerclips' Goals of the Week 2
10. Sepp De Roover, FC Groningen ( http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/latest_goals/play/?efa34E034ce )
The Dutch season has officially kicked off, and the best goal of the first weekend was scored after 10 minutes of play. De Roover's half-volley from over 25 yards out off the keeper's clearance catches the retreating players on both sides by surprise as it careens straight to the net.
9. Karim Ziani - Marseille (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?c471e10fe10)
The Algerian international opens up the scoring for l'OM with an absolutel rocket. He is just yards away from the touchline when he evades his marker on the right and opens up enough space for himself to blast a powerful shot past the shocked keeper and into the goal.
8. Fernando Belluschi, Olympiakos (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?f751ADdde59)
Although this goal would prove futile in Olympiakos' bid to turn their massive deficit against Anorthosis, it was nevertheless a cracking strike from their Argentinian star. He tees up a low shot from well outside the box and just past the reach of the keeper to give his side a lifeline in the return leg.
7. Nicklas Bendtner, Arsenal (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?F6c843CB859)
The Gunners show their penchant for stylish football yet again in the build-up to this goal. Bendtner spins past a few defenders in the box and plays the ball to Denilson, who promptly returns the favor with a nifty back heel to Bendtner; the Danish youngster is left with the easiest of chances to put the ball in the net and he does not disappoint.

Bendtner: Finishing the job at the Emirates
6. Branislav Fodrek, Artmedia Bratislava (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/all/play/?a8f60F6Fcff)
Like Belluschi before him, Fodrek could not prevent his club from going out of the Champions League; however, he can still be proud of this effort against Juventus. In a goal strikingly similar of Henrik Larsson's cracker against France just last week, he connects with a cross from the right and lashes in a fierce volley into the net.
5. Cédric Fauré, Le Havre (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?69D72c3c1bb)
The French striker plays the role of a smooth operator with his breathtaking goal for Le Havre. His shot from well outside the box is perfectly struck as it bends and curls on its way to the only place the goalkeeper cannot reach -- the very top right corner, mere inches under the crossbar.
4. Diego, Werder Bremen (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?b54F853a4a2)
Diego provides another moment of magic for the German side with his peach of a free-kick. He steps up to the ball, takes aim, and flicks a looping ball barely out of the goalkeeper's reach and into the top corner -- evoking comparisons with Ronald Koeman's goal against England in 1993 in the process.

Diego: Another goal to celebrate
3. Jermain Defoe, Portsmouth (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?866dB9a2315)
Out of the three goals scored by Pompey at Goodison Park, their last one was definitely the most pleasing on this author's eyes. Sean Davis plays a clever heel pass into the path of Defoe, who produces a spectacular chip shot which evades Tim Howard, skips off the crossbar and falls past the goal line by mere inches.
2. Antonio di Natale, Udinese (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?753daCf8cd5)
di Natale puts on a masterful exhibition of ball control as he bags his second goal against Palermo. Running headlong toward goal with two defenders trying to track him down, he latches onto a long ball from the center circle, caresses the ball with his feet, and takes a beautiful lob shot on a bounce which the keeper tries to vain to reach.
1. Alexander Baumjohann, Borussia Mönchengladbach (http://www.soccerclips.net/en/videos/play/?75bAd5D28aD)
This week's Goal of the Week goes to Alexander Baumjohann of Borussia Mönchengladbach, who scored a mesmorising solo goal against Werder Bremen. After winning the ball in his own midfield, the young gun blasts through the defenders, evades a tackle, scampers past two Werder players, then unleashes a laser-guided shot straight into the back of the net. It was a moment of sheer brilliance from the young German, and it would eventually become the match-winner as his side went onto beat Werder by the count of 3-2.
